Electrolysis with Gigi

Electrolysis is the only method of permanently removing unwanted hairs that is approved by the British Medical Association. Yes, you heard that right! Laser hair removal is not permanent removal, at best it can only reduce the volume or thickness of unwanted hairs, but not get rid of them for good. To permanently remove hairs, we need to destroy the base of the hair follicle, known as the bulb. The only way to successfully perform this is through Electrolysis.

What is Electrolysis and how does it work?
A small electric current is applied to the base of each individual hair follicle using an extremely fine probe and is inserted through the natural opening of the hair follicle on the skin under a very strong magnification lamp (it does not puncture the skin at all). The current is applied for 1-2 seconds and destroys the root of the hair so it is unable to grow another hair from that follicle - ever again! The results truly are permanent removal of unwanted hairs. Electrolysis has been around for over 100 years and is one of the most proven and successful methods of removing unwanted hairs for good.

How many sessions will I need?
We need to treat each individual hair follicle and not all of them are growing hairs at any given time. Therefore, the volume and thickness of your hairs will really determine how long this process will take.
Typically, most clients come in once a week for the first 3-4 months which is our "clearance" period where we try to catch all of the hairs growing and appearing above the surface of the skin so we can destroy these follicles.
After this, sessions may reduce in frequency and time, as then the hairs that do appear following this are those which were not actively growing in the first stage - note that hairs on the face for example the chin sometimes take up to 9 months to appear once they have shed naturally or been plucked out, so the more consistent you are with the treatments, the quicker you will see visible results which is permanent removal of these unwanted hairs.
It is normal to experience some mild redness or swelling for a couple of hours after the treatment. This will die down as the skin now grows cells in the place where the old hair follicles used to be.
